Childhood sleep problems are common, and frequently reduce the wellbeing and functioning of both child and family.
The majority of childhood sleep problems are behavioural in origin and include difficulties falling asleep at the start of the night, frequent night waking, early morning waking or a combination of these.
These difficulties often improve with home-based behavioural interventions, but families often have to wait a long time to see a health professional to get this information.
Sleep Well Be Well has been developed by experts at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne and Murdoch Children’s Research Institute to help parents manage their child’s sleep problems.
It includes a ‘sleep check’ to help parents identify the type of sleep problem(s) their child is experiencing and provides evidence-based information and strategies tailored to their child’s sleep problem(s). Parents are guided through each strategy step by step with daily notifications to help families achieve success.
